Auction of Vehicles and Motorcycles by the Assets Recovery Agency (ARA).
In a notice issued on Tuesday, February 25, the Assets Recovery Agency (ARA) announced plans to dispose of forfeited assets through a public auction. The agency has invited bids from eligible participants for the sale of vehicles and motorcycles that have been seized.
ARA informed the public that the auction would take place on Thursday, March 13, 2025, starting at 10:00 AM, at various locations listed in the auction catalog. The assets will be sold on an “as-is-where-is” basis.
The auction will be conducted by the appointed auctioneer, M/s Keysian Auctioneers, whose contact details are provided in the auction catalogue (P.O. Box 2788-00200 Nairobi; email: keysianauct@gmail.com; phone: 0722 752 583/0708 674 632).
Interested buyers can inspect the auction items from Wednesday, February 26, to Wednesday, March 12, 2025, between 9:00 AM and 3:00 PM at designated locations.
Auction Conditions
A detailed auction catalog is available at the ARA offices on the 21st floor of the UAP Old Mutual Towers upon payment of a non-refundable fee of Ksh1,000.
Payment should be made via direct deposit to KCB Bank, Account Number 1210028794, KICC Branch, under the name Assets Recovery Agency.
A bank deposit slip will be required as proof of payment by Thursday, March 13, at 10:00 AM to obtain an official receipt, which is necessary for acquiring a bidding number and participating in the auction.
All interested bidders must obtain a bidding number from M/s Keysian Auctioneers.
Additionally, a refundable auction deposit is required: Ksh100,000 for motor vehicles and Ksh10,000 for motorcycles, payable to the auctioneer. This deposit will be credited as part of the final payment for successful bidders.
The agency emphasized that the vehicles and motorcycles are sold on an “as-is-where-is” basis and are subject to a reserve price.
Successful bidders must pay a deposit of 25% of the purchase price immediately upon winning the bid (“at the fall of the hammer”). This payment should be made to the Criminal Assets Recovery Fund Account at KCB Bank, KICC Branch (Account Number: 1240221339).
