Court of Eldoret ruling out the case of a woman who stambed her husband
The court of Eldoret has sentenced a woman who stambed her husband to death to 35years of imprisonment
She is said to have stabbed her slain husband on the chest once leading to his death on the spot at her sisters house where she had sought refuge following frequent domestic feud with the deceased.
The court heard that prior to the tragic incident, the couple had spent the better part of previous night quarreling before the convict left for her elder sisters house within the estate.
The following day, the deceased who was said to be drunk pursued his wife to where her sister stayed and found the door locked from inside.
The prosecution stated that the deceased knocked on the door with a force but his wife told him to wait since she was taking a bath.
The deceased is said to have become impatient and decided to force the door open as he demanded some of the items among them a phone and sandals that his wife had taken away.
In her mitigation, through her lawyer Tariko Kiptoo, the convict pleaded with the Judge to have mercy on her, saying that she acted in self defense during the scuffle.
