Social policy refers to guidelines, rules that are put in place with the government and other organisations like political parties, pressure groups, religious organisations and community based organisations to enhance wellbeing and enhance provision of welfare services.There are various principles of social policy :

1.Dignity and respect 

Social policy must involve fundamental respect, autonomy and dignified society in the provision of social welfare services.

2.Equality -It must involve non discrimination between individuals in terms of culture,race and tribes in the places of work and education.

3.Comprehensiveness -It must involve integration of various organisations and parties for example political parties, governments and the citizens at large.

4.Constitutional integrity -They must obey the government guidelines and legal frameworks and involving all arms of the governments for example executive, judiciary and legislature.

5.Provision at lower levels -Social policies have to be provided to even those in grassroots areas for example those in villages.

6.Equity -Involves treating individuals as the same at all circumstances as well as exercising justice in the provision of services.
