Wamalwa Hints at 2027 Political Earthquake as Kibaki-era Team Regroups to Unseat Ruto
Eugene Wamalwa has revealed plans to form a powerful coalition to unseat President Ruto in 2027. The alliance includes key political figures like Matiang’i, Karua, and Kalonzo, aiming to revive the 2002 NARC spirit. However, the coalition is yet to settle on a single presidential flagbearer.

Democratic Action Party leader Eugene Wamalwa has announced plans to form a formidable coalition ahead of the 2027 General Election, vowing to remove President William Ruto from power. Speaking in an interview with NTV, Wamalwa said the coalition will mirror the successful 2002 alliance that brought the late President Mwai Kibaki to power, with key political heavyweights already joining forces.

Among those in the mix are former Interior CS Fred Matiang’i, Narc-Kenya leader Martha Karua, National Assembly Speaker Justin Muturi, and Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka. Wamalwa hinted that the team is growing stronger and more united, despite attempts to divide them. "We are rebuilding the NARC moment for 2027, and this time, we will send Ruto home in the first round," he asserted.

Meanwhile, Matiang’i has gained significant momentum with Jubilee Party branch leaders endorsing him as their preferred presidential candidate. He has already taken concrete steps towards his 2027 ambitions, including signing a consultancy deal with a Canadian lobbying firm to bolster his campaign strategy.

Karua’s camp is also rebranding with purpose, transforming NARC-Kenya into the People’s Liberation Party (PLP) to appeal to Gen Z voters and champion transparency and unity. As the opposition builds its power bloc, all eyes remain on who will carry the coalition’s flag — a decision that could determine the outcome of the 2027 polls.
